Narkanda is located in Himachal Pradesh, 2hrs ahead of Shimla. And approximately 420kms i.e. 8-10hrs from the capital, New Delhi.
Seetalvan Orchard, is honestly the reason we went to Narkanda on a friend's recommendation.
It is exactly situated in Kotgarh, which is almost 15-17kms ahead of Narkanda.
The roads are clean and safe, can be travelled mostly by car/local bus.
Seetalvan Orchard opens up to breathtaking views all around. In a small town like Kotgarh, it is a well maintained retreat, where you can take in the pure mountain air, enjoy walks through flowers and fruits and relive the mountain life with toothsome local Pahadi food.

Narkanda can be visited all through the year. It is covered with beautiful orchads in the spring season. In the months of March-April-May, you can see a magnificent view of valley covered with flowers and fruits all around you. But if you are a winter lover, you can also visit here in the months of Dec-Jan to enjoy the snowfall. The only season you can ignore are the monsoons.
-By Train: You can board the Himalayan Queen from Delhi to Kalka and then a bus ahead to Narkanda. Cabs are also available at Kalka Railway Station.
-By Bus: There is no direct bus between New Delhi and Narkanda. You can take State Transport Bus from New Delhi to Nahan then take a taxi from Nahan to Narkanda
-By Car: Delhi- Ambala- Himalayan Expressway- Shimla- Kufri- Narkanda- Thandedar- Kotgarh.
Things to do around:
– Trekking: If adventour is your thing, visit the Hatu Peak. It has a breathtaking view of the Himalayan Range.
– St. Marys Church is a local heritage point
– Tani Jubbar is a small holy lake for seightseeing
– Saharan is a very old Indo-Tibetan temple
